"Goma refugee house"

The Humanitarian Field refers to all the helping activities that go on during and after wars and disasters.

Because the people affected by the disasters are particularly vulnerable they need helpers prepared to fight to ensure they get their very basic needs met – shelter, water, food, warmth.

As crises continue or die down there may be large groups of refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs – people made homeless within their own country). Since they have no source of income, are dependent on others for everything, and a large proportion of families have lost their men, they may be exploited in all kinds of ways.

It gives an introduction to each subject
It provides links to relevant materials
