Are you able to search the Internet efficiently and for free? We need someone to go through all the sites with links from Networklearning to find materials in Portuguese.
You do not have to be able to speak this language. Where sites offer materials in different languages you could look at one or two products in English or French to see whether the language is easy enough for people with less than degree-level education. The Deputy Minister of Public Health in Guinea-Bissau, Dr Augusto Paulo Silva, has contacted us with the following request “I am asking you formally to try to get us the following help. We need an Internet search for materials in Portuguese related to Primary Health Care with comments on the quality of each website concerned. Unfortunately we still have a shortage of computers in Guinea-Bissau”. So we need a list of materials for his Public Health Resources Centre with the site name and web address, titles of materials in Portuguese, comments on the site’s use of language and approach to content. This last I could help with myself (MM). If you could manage it, a parallel list of materials in French would benefit all the Francophone countries of Africa as well.
