Trauma, Resilience and Adversity Activated Growth

The International Organization for Migration's Psychosocial and Cultural Integration Unit (IOM PCI Unit) and the Centre for Trauma, Asylum and Refugees, University of Essex.
Description:
The course will look at psychosocial tools and approaches to use when working with trauma affected people and populations - trauma not only as a direct result of conflicts, but also connected with forced migration.
Three noted experts in the field will conduct the course: Natale Losi, International Organization for Migration (IOM); Renos Papadopoulos, University of Essex and Yvonne Sliep, University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Intended audience:
It's aimed towards humanitarian workers involved in cooperation activities in various fields - not only psychological or psychiatric - but to everybody who has (or can have) an effective role in supporting individuals and communities that have been through severe traumatic experiences.
Dates:
There are two different options of enrolment: Part I: 13 - 17 October or Part I and II: 13 - 22 October (excluding the weekend)
Cost:
750 Euro for Part I or 950 Euro for the whole course (travel, board and lodging not included).
